Quilter on the Run! – March 3rd Virtual Speaker

Our March speaker will be Kris Vierra, aka Quilter on the Run. She has worked as a professional quilting instructor for over a decade and is an accomplished quilter and sewist. She recently had a fabulous Steampunk garment exhibit at the last Houston quilt show. In addition, she hosts guided quilting tours to places like Morocco and Ireland. She will be talking to us about the ins and outs of quilting tours and cruises. Hope you can join us next month for this unique lecture. We could use a vacation, right?

February Meeting

This month’s meeting will be a virtual only meeting due to the continued high impact of the omicron variant in our area.

Zoom Only Meeting this month: Feb 3, 2022 06:30 PM Pacific Time, waiting room will open at 6:00 PM PST

Please find the Zoom link and instructions to invite a guest in your email.

This month’s virtual program is Quilter’s College with topics including organizing your sewing room and UFO’s!

Our Stray Thread’s board met via video conference on January 17, 2022, to review the current Covid-19 community data, guidance from public health departments and Governor Inslee. Our board voted to cancel all in person guild activities and hold virtual video conferences where possible. Our guild’s safety guidelines require complete vaccinations with booster to attend in person meetings, so if you haven’t done so, please take this opportunity during the pause to update your vaccination and booster records with the guild. While we are all very disappointed we are not meeting in person, know the decision was made to do our part to help limit the number of people becoming ill which could result in overloading our already stressed and strained healthcare system. The latest King County Dashboard shows King County Community Transmittal as “HIGH”. For now, Community Service Sew Days and Satellite Groups will be held virtually or rescheduled at the discretion of the chairs and coordinators. A decision on the Feb. 26/27 QTDA has not been made at this time.

In other news, it is membership renewal time! Please check your email for new options and instructions!
